The roads in the Pokemon World can be very dangerous if you're not prepared. The first time you walk down Route 1, it's just you and your first Pokemon (which in Yellow is Pikachu and it can be VERY disobedient). After you gain the ability to Catch Wild Pokemon you can use this as hunting ground. Take the road north to Virdian City.

Catch Wild Pokemon=Catch or capture a pokemon with a Poke, Ultra, Great, Safari, or Master balls. We'll get to the balls beside the Pokeball later!
